Sunny Isles Beach is a community located in the North-East corner or Miami-Dade County between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal waterways. Just about 10 miles (17 km) north of South Beach, a few miles north of the shops of Bal-Harbour, and south of Golden Beach City.

Sunny Isles Beach was incorporated as a municipality in 1997; during the 2000s Real Estate boom began a major re-development with mostly luxury high-rise condominiums along the beach side of Collins Avenue, replacing all the historical ones and two-story motels.

The half-mile Sunny Isles Pier was built in 1936 and soon became a popular destination. Today, the new pier is almost finished with a privately owned restaurant and fishing area. A lifeguard station is located at this park for swimmer's safety.

Sunny Isles developed slowly until the 1950s, when the first single-family homes were built in the Golden Shores area. The city is well known worldwide for its Luxury Oceanfront Condominiums and spectacular waterfront homes.

 In 2013 two new condo towers were actively under construction in Sunny Isles Beach: the 47-story "Regalia" project on 19505 Collins Avenue features 39 units, one unit per floor on the city's northern edge overlooking the wealthy single-family house community of Golden Beach.

Several other projects, including the "Chateau Beach," "Jade Signature," "400 Isles", and "Porsche Building," have- or are close to opening sales centers to generate the pre-construction contracts that will be essential to launch construction.
