It was developed in 1995 by The Trump Group in partnership with the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in collaboration with Robert M. Swedroe’s architectural firm overlooking the waterfront community of Eastern Shores, after 1000 Williams Island.

Tower 2000 at Williams Island offers amenities like a two-story lobby and a large social room with a kitchen, bar, theater, breakfast club, and lounge. New buyers must pay a one-time Williams Island Club Initiation fee of $7,500.00.

The eponym of the community of Williams Island is Raymond Gaylord Williams, who came to Miami in 1,924 from Van Buren, Arkansas.
His father-in-law, Evert Price Maule, was the founder of Maule Industries’ operations in Ojus, which created the peninsula on Williams Island that would later become this luxury residential complex.
In 1969 Mr. Williams sold his tract to Saul J Morgan and Norman Cohen for $1.815,000. Morgan sold his stake in the trach to Cohen in 1971, and in 1980, Cohen sold the property to Julius and Edmond Trump for $17.616,500.
The brothers enticed Screen legend, Sophia Loren, to call Williams Island home. As a result, Sofia Loren served as a consultant on the charming Mediterranean Village.
The Island peninsula is nestled on 84 acres, secluded and covered by Australian Pines; it offers an exclusive, private way of life. Residents can enjoy the Island Club with its newly-opened Island Grille restaurant, Island Shoppe Boutique, a brand new 27,000 SqFt.
Aventura is a planned, suburban city between Miami and Ft Lauderdale Airports, only a few miles away from The Bal Harbour Shops in the Bal Harbour Village and Sunny Isles Beach. Aventura began to be developed during the early 1970s and became an incorporated city in 1995.
